Welcome to the unofficial Lindseth Climbing Wall homepage!
Wondering what's so great about the wall? Well, Cornell is certainly proud of the fact that they're the largest natural rock climbing gym in North America. (Or something like that. I can haven't figured out if that's still true.)
The point, however, is that the wall is big! There are plenty of places to play, and it's rare to find it either too crowded or completely empty. (It's crowded at the beginning of the semester, and it's empty when they open each day.)
It's also made with real rocks. This is much closer to climbing outdoors than using plain old plastic holds like your ordinary gym.
In fact, the climbing community here at Cornell is significantly more skilled at climbing outdoors than your average rock gym. There are a large number of experienced trad leaders, and, more importantly, some of them have been known to occationally teach new climbers how to climb safely outdoors.
This web page is my attempt to help out that community. I've included a place to go to advertise for your latest road trip to the Gunks, to search for the next challenging boulder problem to try, and to find the latest, coolest game to play at the wall. (More will appear later.)However, if you're hoping for the wall's hours, rules, courses, or some such official sounding bit of info, then you're in the wrong place! (Try the offical page.) There, you'll get less interesting but more useful things.
