By default, this is just a normal AltaVista search which tries to match all of the keywords instead of just one of them. If you put a "-" in front of the keyword, than it matches only pages which don't include that word, and if you put either a "|" or a "/" in front of the word, then it uses the word in the normal AltaVista way. (ie: The pages don't actually have to have that word.)

You can also put in some options on the search. These are placed inside square brackets at the beginning of the search. Multiple options can be used--they are separated by spaces.

• [new] This puts the search result in a different browser window. (Openning the window if necessary.)
• [cnf] This uses the CNF Equipement Scheduler instead of the AltaVista engine.
• [news] This uses DejaNews instead of AltaVista.
• [oldnews] This uses DejaNews to search for old news articles.
• [aussie] This uses the Australian web site for AltaVista searches.
• [euro] This uses the European mirror of AltaVista.
• [info] This uses Infoseek.
